David Mandell

Mr. Mandell oversees and supervises all corporate and regulatory matters, general business and legal affairs, as well as human resources. He has extensive experience in counseling senior management, negotiating and drafting various distribution and rights acquisition agreements, and managing corporate and legal affairs at leading companies in the entertainment and cable industries. Mr. Mandell previously served as the SVP, Business and Legal Affairs at Gemstar?TV Guide. He advised senior executives regarding license arrangements pertaining to the company?s linear broadcast channels, interactive program guide, patent portfolio, and VOD service in addition to managing complex publishing and licensing negotiations. Prior to Gemstar?TV Guide, Mr. Mandell served as the VP, Business and Legal Affairs at Playboy Entertainment Group where he spearheaded domestic and international joint ventures, managed rights clearance matters concerning copyright, trademark, fair use and guild related issues, as well as negotiated and drafted Playboy?s most significant satellite and cable distribution agreements. Mr. Mandell has a bachelor?s degree from the University of Florida and earned his J.D. from the University of Miami School of Law where he served as the Editor-In-Chief of the Entertainment Law Journal. He is admitted to the State Bar of California and the United States Court of Appeals, District of Columbia. He is also a member of the Association of Corporate Counsel.
