San Francisco Examiner: Skyfire 2.0 for Android released
Examiner.com - April 29, 2010
Frankly, in my opinion you can't find a better browser on Android. And even if you don't agree, it's nice to have a choice isn't it?
The Skyfire 2.0 browser is out for Android users and it looks to be a dandy.
Mobile browsers have been upping the ante lately, first with the release of Opera Mini and now with Skyfire 2.0 finally making it out of beta for the world to use.
This is definitely something you want to check out, Android owners and here is why.
Skyfire 2.0, along with being the first Android browser with Flash video enabled, brings a new feature called SkyBar to the table. It rests at the bottom of the screen and brings you three very unique features including Video, Explore, and Share.
To expand a little bit, the Video icon allows you to play Flash video which is certainly welcomed and exciting, the Explore tool "pulls video, buzz, news, images and other sites from the web based on what is on the current page," and the Share button allows you to easily share content via Facebook, Twitter, email, SMS, and so on.
As you can see, SkyBar packs a serious punch into an already amazing browser experience. If I can't convince you, maybe Skyfire's CEO Jeff Glueck can:
"Skyfire 2.0 was built for the way people use social media and the web today. People are now starting their web experience by scanning their Facebook and Twitter news feeds," explains Jeff Glueck, CEO of Skyfire. "Our new browser allows you to open those links and view the videos that your friends have shared. To make that work, people need a browser that can handle the full internet."
Frankly, in my opinion you can't find a better browser on Android. And even if you don't agree, it's nice to have a choice isn't it? So, if you are willing to take the plunge, you can download it here. And if you still don't trust me or Jeff, at least check out the video below.
You won't regret it, San Francisco.
