EveryPoint's FIFA MatchCAST sucks!

Mutant's Musings - July 12, 2006

On one of our earlier blog postings, we talked about Everypoint's World Cup FIFA MatchCast. From the website flash demos, it looks pretty cool, and the UI is really eye-catching... or so we thought. we then downloaded Everypoint's FIFA MatchCast on our Sony Ericsson w810i - size 211KB, but after trying it out for a while, we thought we would write this post to share our "user experience". It was a major disappointment. Perhaps it's due to our device (we used a Sony Ericsson w810i which is clearly listed on FIFA World Cup site as one of those supported phone models), or maybe you'd have a different experience than us, drop a note and let us know.

After much hype and buzz.. you REALLY ought to download this to see it for yourself, how painfully slow the whole UI navigation is, even when I am not downloading anything from the network. Gosh! This must be one of the worst midlets I have ever tried. Lotsa fancy graphics but cluttered on a small screen, and some of the graphics even appear to be of poor quality and resolution. You'd think that being vector-based, the animation and transition would be slick, but NO, it is far worst... crying shame... I wonder what's all the fuzz about Everypoint. Don't take my word for it, download it and try it out yourself.

EveryPoint's FIFA MatchCAST - what a big letdown... more hype than useful...

I wish I have a video cam now to take the screenshot and put it up here. Maybe I'd try it later.
