Benefit Concert Raises Thousands for Project Ahimsa

Project Ahimsa, a non-profit organization dedicated to the empowerment of youth through music, and Masttones.com, a leading provider of South Asian ringtones, together hosted a benefit concert June 23 in Los Angeles, Calif. The concert, called ?Pickin' Mangoes," featured Bobby Friction, the UK-based DJ who has helped to build the British Asian genre of popular music. His recent compilation, ?Friction," has already sold 120,000 copies in India since its release and held a number one chart position for 14 weeks. DJ Gabe and surprise guest David Starfire also joined in, keeping the party in full swing all night long at the Standard hotel Hollywood's lounge.
